- Notifications must be configured at the job level, not at the global level.
Steps
- Log in to your ReadyNAS storage system.
- Make sure that the email account from which you wish to send alerts is already added as an alert contact. If it is not, see To add a user for receiving alerts.
- Configure the options as explained in the following list:
- Email Account Provider.If the email account provider for the email address you added as an alert contact is Yahoo, AOL, or Gmail, the Advanced Options fields are completed automatically. Otherwise, this field defaults to Custom and you must manually complete the Advanced Options fields.If you need to change your email account provider:
- Select Reset from the drop-down menu.
- If you wish to send email from an existing alert contact address, click that alert contact to fill out the sender information automatically.Otherwise, select Custom and enter the new account information.
- User.If this field is not already completed, enter the email address from which you wish to send alerts. This information is required only if the SMTP server requires authentication.
- Password.Enter the password that is associated with your email account. This information is required only if the SMTP server requires authentication.
- SMTP Server.Enter the address of the outgoing SMTP server.
- SMTP Port.Enter the port number for the outgoing SMTP server.
- From.Enter a valid email address that identifies the sender of the email alert.
- Use TLS.(Optional) Select this check box to encrypt email using Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol.
- Click Send Test Message And Apply to finalize your changes.
- Email Account Provider.If the email account provider for the email address you added as an alert contact is Yahoo, AOL, or Gmail, the Advanced Options fields are completed automatically. Otherwise, this field defaults to Custom and you must manually complete the Advanced Options fields.If you need to change your email account provider:
- To stop a user from receiving alerts:
- On the Admin Page of your ReadyNAS storage system, select System > Settings > Alerts.
- Select a user that you want to remove.
- Click the – button.
- Click Send Test Message And Apply to finalize your changes.
